Round 14 Senior Highlights

1st XI

Following our win against Chelsea, our 1st XI traveled to Banksia Reserve, Beaumaris where we recorded our second victory for the season against Beaumaris.


Beaumaris needed to win this game to have any chance of playing Finals.


McKinnon invited Beaumaris to bat first and they declared at 5/174 with Dylan Thomas continuing his good late season form with the ball taking 3/50.


McKinnon struggled with the bat with the loss of early wickets, before James Bragagnolo arrived at the crease top scoring with a well made 68 and being supported by Dylan Thomas 35. McKinnon was finally dismissed for 187. 


 2nd XI

Our 2nd XI played Sth Caulfield at McKinnon.


Sth Caulfield batted first in overcast and humid conditions and was dismissed for 126. Shyam Jivan was the best of the bowlers taking 4/29 and Nathan West 3/23.


In a very tight game, McKinnon was finally dismissed for 152, with Nathan West top scoring with 39, Aman Prasad 30 and Shyam 21. 


3rd XI

The 3rd XI had a bye, but was favoured by results with has left them in 4th position on the ladder and a place in the Finals next Saturday.


They will be playing Hampton at Hampton.

4th XI

Our 4th XI played Caulfield Grammarians at McKinnon Reserve No.2.


Caul. Gram. batted first and was dismissed for 173.


Our boys tried hard to break through for a win, but just failed making 7/165. Guy Marrocco top scored with 39, Cam Stewart 33 and Lachy McKenzie 30.


Masters (over 40's)

The Grand Final was played at Highett Reserve against Bayside Cricket Club (merged clubs Highett & Moorabbin Park).


McKinnon batted first and finished with 6/164cc. Rob Cleland top scored with 51 (retired), Daryl Strudwick 41 and Matthew Moore 35.


In what turned out to be a close game, Bayside finished with 7/149, giving McKinnon a hard fought win.


Well done to all the players who played in the side over the course of the season.
